Mbappe made it clear to PSG that he wanted to leave. Real Madrid made it clear they wanted him, too, and were willing to spend a massive transfer fee to get him as opposed to waiting one year to sign him for free. Yet PSG rejected a reported 200 million euro bid, as they never responded back to Los Blancos.
Already, though, there appears to be one prospect who is uninterested in playing along with the club. Though others before him – such as Neymar, Adrien Rabiot, and Marco Verratti – have tried to orchestrate moves earlier in their career to no avail, Xavi Simons has a key advantage. Like Mbappe, his contract runs out after the season ends. So PSG can do nothing if he wants to leave.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the Manchester City and Barcelona-linked midfield prospect is seriously considering leaving Paris when his contract runs out. Romano says clubs in Spain and Germany are monitoring the 18-year-old’s situation.
